DTMF Robot without Microcontroller

Working on robots,I found a new article about DTMF (Dual-Tone Multiple- Frequency) code, which can be decoded by certain integrated circuits. But what is DTMF ? Have you ever head, different types of sound created by a cell phone when pressed different type of number buttons? if not, try it. DTMF is linked to that, each sound has 4 bit code which varies from number to number, which is called DTMF code. British DTMF code is widely accepted all over the world. DTMF is usually used in telecommunications over on analog telephones like devices. So, this post will show you how to make a DTMF based robot controlling by a mobile wirelessly. I think everyone likes to play RC cars, helicopters and planes. But can you think for how far you can control it. The major disadvantage of using this type of toys is short range. And it is bit of costly. I think everyone of you might have atleast 2 cell phones. So, to get off from this problem, DTMF based robot are best, they can be controlled by a simple cell phone. The most advantage of this robot is that it can be controlled in any part of the world. This means, it can be controlled unless and untill there is mobile network. And we know that mobile network is through out the world. This is very easy to make. Just press numbers on your cell phone on your mobile and control it all over the world.

   c) Farm Monitoring.

Other-
a) Communication Encryption.
b) Robotics
c)  Aeronautics

Materials required-
Robot parts-
1) 1 pair of 12 volt gear motors.
2) Chassis
3) castor wheel
4) 1 pair of Wheels for gear motors.

Circuit parts-
1) 2 X 100 k resistor
2) 1 X 330 K resistor
3) 1 X 1 K resistor
4) 3.57 MHz Crystal oscillator
5) IC MT8870 - DTMF decoder
6) IC L293D - Motor driver
7) Led - any colour
8) IC 7805 with a small heat sink.
9) 2 X 0.1 uf capacitor- any type (ceramic or mylar)
5) 1 X 0.47 uf capacitor- any type (ceramic or mylar)
6) Universal headphone jack. Also called audio jack- Male.
7)  2 X 10 uf 63 volts capacitor - electrolytic.
8) 2 X 22 pf capacitor
9) 9 volt battery with holder. I recommend to 2 batteries for better result which should be strictly connected in parallel.
10) This circuit can be made on breadboard. I suggest you to first test it with breadboard and then move towards PCB's or veroboards.

here is the circuit diagram-
